Ingredients
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. all purpose flour
2 c. 2% milk
2 c. (1 pint) half + half
1 3/4 c. fresh corn off the cob
1/2 c. chopped onion or 1 small bunch of green onions (pre-cook)
8 oz Imitation crab (when recipe doubled can use 8oz imitation lobster and crab)
8 oz salad shrimp
1/2 tsp ground white pepper
1/2 tsp seasoned salt
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1/4 c. chopped parsley
well cooked diced potatoes (amount to your liking)
Directions
In a heavy bottomed pot, melt butter then add flour stirring gently until blended. Do not let burn or darken.
Add milk gradually, stirring constantly.
Add half + half, stirring gently until blended.
Add corn and onions and cook for a few minutes until tender.
Add crab, shrimp, salt, pepper, soy sauce and potatoes.
Simmer until very hot and small bubbles form on edge. Stir often. DO NOT LET BOIL!
Garnish with parsley.
Variations
If it is not thick enough, add mashed potato flakes at the end. Note: Grammy never had to do this.
