Ingredients
1 pie crust
5 1/2 cup peeled and cored sliced cooking apples. Granny Smith my preferred choice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar packed
3 tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
TOPPING: 3/4 cup flour, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/3 cup butter
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 F, Fit pie crust into pie plate
Large bowl, mix sliced apples, lemon juice, both sugars, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pile into crust.
Prepare topping by mixing butter with flour and both sugars using pastry blender, fork or hands until coarsely crumbled.
Sprinkle topping over apples.
Bake at 375 for approximately 50 minutes. IF crust gets dark, cover edges. Filling will be bubbling. Allow a few hours to cool and set prior to serving.
